Epiphany liturgy - here's a liturgy I wrote for Epiphany, at Feast last night.

Epiphany

Father Spirit Son
One in three and three in one

For these moments
Together, gathered here

Bearing gifts and travelled so far
We bring what we bring and share what we may

For this day, for this place
For these people we pray

Giving thanks for this safe space
Remembering those still questing to find

A peace from the storms
And pains of this life

Torn from homes,
ripped out from the everyday

To a new normal, shaded by fear
Flung to the farthest reaches

Of this bruised earth
Battered by storms

Where seas swarm
And on and on

Searching, seeking
A kingdom to find

Rest, Sabbath, space
Peace of mind

Magi journeying from the east
Amidst the warlord’s soon to be scorched lands

Bearing gifts and travelled so far
We bring what we bring and share what we may

Lord, to this table
We bring, we share, we feast

Give us compassion for the broken
The lost, the least

Grow within us hearts for each other
Bearing our scars, held with open palms

Tell us new-ancient stories
Take us further than we thought possible

Lead us onward
To stony shores

Where we may be baptised

With the boat dwellers and their Christ.
